Eco-friendly Nappy

My baby has been using for almost a month a nappy that claims to be 100% biodegradable. I ordered this from a multiply seller. I was so happy to try this out that I ordered 3 packs at once.

From the packaging it says that the "Safeties Nature Nappy" is fabric based and is made from natural materials; 100% biodegradable and complies with international standards. The nappy pack comes with a biodegradable bag.

Since my baby weighs 6kgs. I got the Safeties Nature Nappy infant size (5kg-10kg). One pack contains 32 pcs. of diapers. I wasn't to happy with the nappy. There was nothing fancy about the look of the nappy. However, I did not mind that at all.

Though the packaging states "New and Improved Absorbency and Fit"... well... its exactly the opposite. It doesn't fit well and most of the time my baby's urine leaks. The velcro does not stick properly. Also, the nappy seems to fall off that sometimes whenever I cleaned my baby the dirt is way up his butt.

I am just disappointed because I thought this was one eco-friendly way that I can help mother earth.  It is not even cheap, the price is almost the same with huggies. Well, I just hope they would find ways to improve this nappy.

Mommies Day

Since yesterday morning I received greetings from family and friends... "Happy mother's day!" "Finally! Mommy ka na!" I can't describe how I felt. Sarap ng pakiramdam.

Happy mother's day to all mommies 24/7 na walang pahinga.

Birthing Story

Feb. 20, 2010 (Friday)

Exactly 39 weeks pregnant
No labor pains at the moment

Weekly check-up schedule... My OB performed an internal exam and confirmed that my cervix has not dilated. Also, she said that my pelvic area has not opened. Based on the ultrasound, my baby's placenta is already mature and though my baby is positioned head first it has not fully descended... She recommended I undergo cesarean operation immediately. I was then scheduled for a CS operation the next day at 7am. My husband and I were sadden since we were hoping that I would give birth normally. But then risks were greater if we opted for a trial labor... I felt no labor pains at all, only tightening of my tummy which according to my OB were already contractions. She explained that the baby is facing my front or face up. The proper position should be head down or the baby should be facing my spine. My OB instructed that I be admitted that night around 8pm. She added that I should not take in any food and drinks after 12 midnight in preparation for the surgery.

Pregnancy Journal

July 16, 2009

July 16, 2009

I had my first transvaginal ultrasound. We saw my baby’s heartbeat. Everything seems to be normal except for my polycystic ovaries. As expected, my right ovary was polycystic. My OB said that my left ovary has a physiologic cyst but this might be where the fertilized egg came from... This is a miracle. After many years of waiting I’m finally pregnant. I can see the tiny heartbeat of my baby on the monitor.
My husband was there and as always was very much excited.
I’m now 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant… Deliriously happy

Officially pregnant

July 1, 2009 at around 7:30pm, wife was screaming… husband run frantically to her side. Both were in shock with unexplained happiness. They could not believe it, finally two lines. Wife tested again after an hour just to be sure… two lines again!
Could this be it? An unexpected moment … an answered prayer for so long. The next day, wife tested again, same result… The couple was amazed, cried, laugh… It has been three years, could this be it? The wife was so eager to visit an OB to confirm…

The next day, wife tested again. The lines were faint but it still showed two pink lines. wife can’t contain the news to herself. She had to tell someone. But then she had apprehensions because there was no confirmation yet. Also, there might be a chance that it’s a false alarm, maybe a blighted ovum? She can’t wait to leave the office and visit an OB. Her agony took even longer because the big boss called a meeting that morning and she can’t do anything about it. Finally, at noon the meeting ended. Finally... the OB assured her that that the pregnancy test kits were reliable and she’s definitely pregnant and she shouldn’t entertain negative thoughts. This comforted her. She then finally called her husband and told him the news. The husband was ofcourse extremely ecstatic.

Everyone at the office greeted the wife. She was overwhelmed with happiness. So blessed! God is so Good!
